I’ve heard that Haye was looking to go straight to the Klitschkos due to hand problems, don’t think he’s planning on a long career, might be even shorter wailing away on Valuev’s massive head but at least he’s not wasting his time with a Kingpin Johnson or a Fres Oquendo type.

It’s true, Haye has talked his way into losing fans this summer and a win over Valuev won’t change that. When you go out on a limb with the trash talking he’s done this summer, you HAVE to back it up…….and royally.

I couldn’t believe the Forrest news, it just keeps coming week on week. I remember an article in Ring mag about him years back when he took fighter of the year honours which detailed the work he did for charity, he seemed almost too much of a nice guy to be a fighter.

It was pretty gut wrenching reading the associated press report of the incident, heart breaking stuff.

As for Haye, I always said that he should fight a few of the other leading heavyweights first and learn how to deal with 21st century heavies, which Barrett certainly wasn’t. But the fact is Haye has put himself on the line by saying he wants to take out the Klitschkos and how they’re boring, rubbish etc. and really all he’s done so far is talk, talk, talk and not backed up a single word.

Whatever you think of Wlad, and I’m not his biggest fan, at least he does his talking where it matters.

It’s worrying to hear the news about Hatton. Hopefully the slurred speech is due to the fact that he had one too many before the interview and not that he took too many in the ring.
